#TERP - Krishna Guruvayurappa @ Guruvayur Temple

#TERP, the Temple Eco Revival Project, is an innovative initiative by IPride ERD, a social startup, in partnership with Kalya Herbals & Cosmetics LLP. This project is being implemented at the renowned Guruvayur Sree Krishna Temple in Guruvayur, Kerala, to address the pressing issue of mass solid waste management. As a temple that attracts thousands of devotees daily, it generates a significant volume of waste, including flowers, herbs, charcoal, and more. The temple authorities spend a substantial amount on managing and disposing of this waste arising from daily traditional activities, pujas, and offerings.

Kalya's innovative approach involves collecting flowers and herbal plants after pujas and offerings on a day-to-day basis and transforming them into value-added products, such as cosmetics, personal care products, home care items, divine and puja products, and arts & crafts. This marks the first time such a project has been initiated at Guruvayur Sree Krishna Temple. Kalya is proud to play a vital role in transforming waste into valuable products, promoting waste to wealth, eco-spiritual consumerism, and efficient mass solid waste management. This project exemplifies our commitment to sustainable solutions and waste disposal at its source.

Learning for Sustainability (LFS)

In collaboration with Arivan, a social startup focused on education and learning, Kalya is launching Learning for Sustainability (LFS). Beyond manufacturing and selling sustainable products, we aim to educate individuals on living sustainably using various products. Kalya offers workshops and courses that teach people how to make eco-friendly cosmetics, home care items, and other products for personal use. We also encourage them to use this knowledge to earn a living while adopting sustainable practices. www.arivanlearning.com is the platform for delivering this knowledge. This initiative is designed to inspire and empower communities by providing the knowledge and skills needed to live sustainably and responsibly.
